UST's study breaks

i just realised i will have "super" study breaks in HK.

mid-sem break: 1apr (thur) - 7apr(wed) which includes public holidays like Easter, and Good Friday; so they eat up my holidays =( that's like the equivalent of NUS's eating up my pals' CNY break.

Seriously, why do all Unis NOT let their students enjoy their public holidays properly? Why eat into their public hols by cramming them into the study break.

And the BEST THING is: i only have 2 days 18-19may to study for the finals. FINALS!!!! How to study 4 months' work in 2 days? NUS give me 1 week also not enough, UST only give me 2 days?!?!?

Seriously....

Die le la....

Shopping with Gladys

Met up with Gladys to shop today.

Went Bugis and PS.

Shopped a lot, till pocket got hole, legs turn jelly (and countless visits to the toilets).

But had a lot of fun with her =) She shared a lot of interesting stories with me. Haha..... And I intro-ed her a lot of temptations to buy, which I want too but till now have not decided on them. But she has good self-discipline. Just like me, she'll consider before splurging on expensive stuff. =)

Very happy with the sling bag I bought. After 50% off, it's only $15 and the design and quality's nice! Can't wait to use it in HK!

But still disappointed.

It's the Period of Reminisce

While my sisters (3, 4, 5) are reminiscing about their camps they just returned from,
I'm reminiscing about my Langkawi trip.

Argh... school starts tomorrow...
But not for me! XD

我怀念的

i'm missing already.

everything that's normal just feels weird, but yet strangely familiar and well... normal... but strange...

arhhh.... we should have longer getaways next time.

Meet-up with Rebecca

Met up with Rebecca at Doby Ghaut this afternoon.
Checked out the movies but there weren't interesting ones to watch.
Headed to Spotlight and walking through the sewing/handicraft sections gave me many ideas but I'm wondering if I have the time to actually get down to doing them.
Then Daiso, which is so utterly messy I can't stand it. It's like horror to me. I wonder how they do stock taking.
Finally Cotton On which is having up to 50% sale! I bought 2 black shorts for $10 each. So happy with myself for this discovery.

We then headed to Central @ Clarke Quay (as usual, we got lost at the basement looking for that stupid hidden escalator) for dinner at this Jap restaurant that Reb was so excited about. I don't know its name but it's hidden behind Billy Bombers so interested parties can go search for it. We both ordered Ramen-Pork Cheek that Reb kept saying how heavenly it was and tempted me to try it though it was more expensive than the others since it occurs in limited amounts. One bite and I realised why Reb was so excited about it. The meat is so much tender and tastier!!

However I find the soup base and the pork cheek meat rather salty and I had to drink lots of water. But the noodles itself is really nice. =)

We then headed to the sweet shop, Sticky, which makes sweets using the traditional hand-made method, and so happened they were making the sweets so we stood there watched them. It was quite interesting. But they used a hell lot of sugar which freaked me out. I took a sample and hell! Damn sweet! Sticky's sweets are definitely not for me! Rebecca's loving them though, despite she's rather unhappy with her choice of flavour that she bought. Nevermind Reb! There's always a next time!

After watching, we went out to sit on the steps by the river and watched the Hippo boats go by and watch people screaming their heads off as they took those crazy rides. Then a girl came and sat beside us eating a super large cone of Hokkaido ice-cream and we got tempted and went to buy a Dark Choc one. Heavenly! It was my first trying a Dark Choc ice-cream. So nice!!!!!!

And finally, Home Sweet Home! Seriously, I have not recovered from the vacation. I'm still tired and lifeless. Forever yawning.

The Annual Year-End Project

I knew it.

I knew they were thinking like that all along. Now, they finally voiced it out. Or rather, one of them voiced it out.

But it was enough.

I was just updating the Chairperson on the progress of the project, and ended up being accused for always carrying tales. Who were the ones who left the work half-done?

They said those things could wait. How many times have I heard them say "wait" and actually see things getting done the way it should have been done? 1 out of 50 times maybe? Or... a year later (by ME!)?

In unfortunate times (unfortunate for them) when they are forced by the Chairperson, what do they do? "(in whispers) huh... haix.... aiya, we just act act la, just act act like packing can alr."
Like WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do I even bother taking up this thankless, tiring, sweaty (and sometimes painful) job?

Because I'm 犯贱. So much so that I do it yearly, totally knowing well what I was getting myself into.

Every year, I volunteer as the Project Manager, stupidly, but willingly. And within a month, or two at most, after the completion of The Project, all my effort will get wasted, by the dear team mates. Every year. Every year this cycle repeats.

Year end I pack, 1-2 months later, everything's messed up. I tell them to tidy, they say "wait". And their "wait" last for a year. So now, I'm totally immune to their "wait". No. I think I do not trust their "wait" at all.

There's so much to pack you know! Except for your school books (multiply by 4!), I do the rest all by myself you know!!! And you all can't even help me maintain the tidyness, can't even return the things back to their original positions. And I can't even complain?

I knew it.
I knew it a long time ago.

So, for a period of time, I tried very hard not to say anything to the Chairperson, to keep everything to myself. I dared not even blog for I know they'll read. I think I got very depressed that time, and it must have been quite serious for the Chairperson to have realised it and made me talk about it which I didn't want to.

BEWARE: I'm a person fond of carrying tales.
